Rovio's super-popular bird-flinging extravaganza is headed to PC retail in the UK, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

Angry Birds Coming to Retail for Ludicrous Price

Played Angry Birds yet? Apparently over half a billion of you have. If, for whatever reason, you haven't, there'll be a new way to get your hands on it from November 25 -- assuming you live in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Australia or New Zealand.

Yes, developer Rovio Entertainment has signed with Focus Multimedia as the exclusive distributor for the entire three-game Angry Birds series in these territories. Focus have the rights to release PC versions of Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio and Angry Birds Seasons at retail.

"Boxed retail is another way to reach more audience," Ville Heijari from Rovio told UK trade paper MCV. "Digital and mobile are still at the core of our business, but boxed retail is a good addition for taking the brand forward."

Not to mention a potentially profitable addition: the proposed price for the retail version of Angry Birds is £10.20 (about $16) -- over three times the price of the digitally distributed PC edition and representing a markup of 1600% on the $0.99 iOS version. Oh, and a markup of infinity percent on the free Android, Chrome Web Store, Facebook and Google+ versions.

Essentially, if you purchase a retail copy, you're either insane or don't have an Internet connection. Either way, there are much better-value things to spend $16 on.
