New listing for the Simpsons Arcade Game appears on Australian Classification Board website. Could an XBLA and PSN port be coming soon?

Ever since Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was ported to XBLA, Simpsons fans have been clamoring for a port of their own classic arcade game. They may soon be getting their wish.

A new listing for the Simpsons Arcade Game recently appeared on the Australian Classification Board website. Konami is listed as the publisher, with the well-known port team Backbone Entertainment serving as the development team.

No official announcement has been made -- we don't even know what the platform might be (it's listed as a "computer game"). But a port of the Simpsons Arcade Game has been a long time coming, and it wouldn't be shocking if this turned out to be real.

Expect to hear official word of a release for XBLA and PSN next year.
